za 06 zo 07 okt 2010 T-DOSE The place where experts meet on 6 and 7 November 2010 ![]() The T-DOSE Foundation (Technical Dutch Open Source Event) strives to promote the use and knowledge about Open Source software. By organizing a yearly event called T-DOSE the foundation hopes to give Open Source communities a platform on which they can interact amongst each other and present themselves to their user base. In the Netherlands a foundation is known as "Stichting". Its a free and yearly event held in The Netherlands to promote use and development of Open Source Software. During this event Open Source projects, developers and visitors can exchange ideas and knowledge, at the Fontys University of Applied Science in Eindhoven. This years T-DOSE was filled with prominent speakers on various topics. We had Kris Buytaert speaking about Drupal and Open Source virtualization, Ber Kessels talking about Drupal in large organizations, Dag Wieers talking about CentOS and mrepo, Onno Zweers talking about the first programmers in the Netherlands, Bert Boerland gave a talk about 42 reasons to start a Not For Profit organization, John Willis talking about Cloud computing and Geerd_Dietger Hoffmann gave a talk on how to use your wiimote for presentations and showed us all cool things you could do with it.![]() Technical Dutch Open Source Event. Za 13, Zo 14 okt 2007 T-DOSE T-DOSE is a yearly event in The Netherlands to promote, use and development of Open Source Software. Open-sourcesoftware is computerprogrammatuur waarvan de broncode te bekijken en te veranderen is. Linux, is een voorbeeld van een gratis opensource besturingssysteem.( Windows op pc, en OS10 op mac zijn ook besturingssystemen). OpenOffice is een voorbeeld van een gratis opensource programma.( Dit wordt b.v. gebruikt in plaats van Office voor Windows ). Verder welbekend is Firefox opensource browser. Het voordeel van open-sourcesoftware is o.a. , dat zowel besturingssysteem als programma's gratis te downloaden zijn, Dus hiervoor betaalt men geen licentie kosten. Het is voor onafhankelijke programmeurs die programma 's schrijven (b.v. word, office, email of chat ) makkelijker om deze voor open-source besturingsysteem te schrijven (Linux), dan voor een gesloten besturingssysteem (Windows), omdat men bij de laatste niet kan zien hoe het besturingssysteem precies in elkaar zit.
